How to migrate your Cardano native assets using the wallet migration tool
How to migrate to a new Cardano wallet
SecondFi is ceasing operations. If you hold ADA or Cardano native assets in SecondFi, move them to a Cardano wallet you control.
The migration tool is inside the SecondFi app you already have installed.
Which applies to you:
- Wallet not affected: use the migration tool now to move the assets you still hold.
- Wallet affected in the incident: wait for the asset recovery tool. Migrating does not affect your claim or your eligibility for the recovery process.
The asset recovery tool is launching in September. More details coming soon.

Before you start:
- Create a new Cardano wallet from a provider of your choice.
- Have the destination address ready.
- Use a hardware wallet if you can. A hardware wallet is recommended as an additional layer of security. It keeps your private keys offline.

Important reminders:
- You never need to add ADA to migrate. Migrating does not require topping up or funding your wallet at any point.
- Migration happens inside the official SecondFi application you already have installed.
- There is no separate migration application. There is no separate migration website.
- Affected users with staked ADA: do not migrate yet. Your migration will be supported in the next version. Kindly wait for instructions.

Read the instructions and terms:
- Read them carefully.
- Scroll to the bottom.
- Tick the confirmation box.
- Tap Continue.

Step 1: Tap Migrate Cardano Wallet Now on your home screen.

Step 2: Enter your destination address.
- Enter the address of the wallet you want to migrate to.
- Check the address carefully.
- Blockchain transfers cannot be reversed once they are signed and submitted.
You cannot continue if the address is invalid, is your own wallet, or is linked to the incident. If you see an error, enter a different address.

Step 3: Review each transaction.
If your wallet is staked, it is unstaked first. This lets the full amount transfer.

Step 4: Sign to submit the transactions.

Your migration is pending on the blockchain.
Your wallet may show as empty while the transactions confirm.

Migration completed.
Next steps:
- Repeat for each wallet that still holds a balance.
- Tap View wallets to see which wallets still need migrating.
- Delegate again from your new wallet. This is required to keep earning staking rewards and to keep participating in governance.
- Keep your original wallet in the app. Do not delete the wallet or the application. They may be needed for asset recovery.

Non-Cardano assets:
- The migration tool moves Cardano assets only.
- If you hold non-Cardano assets, move them separately.
- Send them to a multichain wallet you control.

Important security reminders:
We will never:
- Ask you to send funds to any address.
- Ask you to install an application, browser extension, or remote access tool from a link sent to you.
- Message you first on X, Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, or any other platform. We may reply to you, but we never start the conversation.
- Ask you to send, show, read out, or share your seed phrase (recovery credentials) or private key.
If anyone asks you to send ADA to complete migration, verify your wallet, or release your assets, treat it as fraudulent.
Scams can look professional. That is not proof they are real. If a message breaks any rule above, treat it as fraudulent.
